I’m in doubt between the Denon MC3000 and the Reloop Jockey 3. After reading tons of reviews, these two seem to be the top products in this price class (around €500). They both have the same features:
– 2 decks + 2 optional sample decks
– jog wheels
– external inputs
– good build quality
– stand alone mixerI used to think about the NI Kontrol S2 as well, but I would like to have inputs as a backup. So the S2 is no longer on my list.
Which of these two would you recommend? I think they are both great controllers and whatever I choose, it won’t be a “wrong” choice, but I would like to know which is the most intuitive controller.
No wrong choice here. Other than CUP and bigger jog wheels on the Reloop they are almost the same. Haven’t try the jockey 3 yet but did try terminal mix 4 and like it, was going to change my mc6000 for it but bought the NS6 instead.

ParticipantTo start DJ’ing For EDM mixtrack pro is a good start up controller. 2 decks, 3 hot cues, filter fx and you can do a good set with it.
Once you see if DJ’ing is what you really wants to do and can do it well, the you can upgrade to better controller.Edgard Rivera

ParticipantDj-Slo, post: 16996, member: 1477 wrote: atom12v you think Reloop mix 4 terminal, will be better than the denon mc-6000???
For my style yes. denon have 4 hot cues per layer, 2 layers total 8 hot cues which is what I use, but you can use only 4 at a time. The Reloop have 4 hot cues and 4 sampler per layer, 2 layer total 8 hot cues and 8 samplers, 4 of each at a time.
But been midi I can map 8 hot cues in 1 layer and the 8 sampler in the 2 layer, which is what I need.
The other option is the vci 400 with the pads but $999.00 no way.March 17, 2012 at 3:28 am in reply to: which has the best scratch, denon mc 6000 or numark ns6, or are equal.??????? #16911Edgard Rivera
ParticipantDj-Slo I own the 6000 with 2 2000 and love it, I’m waiting for the Reloop terminal mix 4. Have a change to see it in person and is a better choice for my style of music. Even that the 6000 is smaller than the terminal 4, with the 2 2000 I’m using an ns7 flycase which is huge.

ParticipantThe OP is asking for a comparison of the 6000 and the NS6 though…
I know but there’s no good scratch videos of the 6000, that’s why I posted the 3000,

ParticipantI used to prepare sets but not anymore crowd may not like a song then you have to deviate form it. Now with traktor 2 I use intro and outro markers (not necessary at the beginning or the end of the song) alone with # 8 cue at any point in between with bars count before a drop or break in the comment area. This with mixed in key i can mix any song at any time in any order. A lot of work to get to this point but is worth it.

ParticipantI’ll try to reply to all of you,
@ Sumir “Primary example of what “we” talk about, good luck out there ..absolute waste 100%” if you’re going to reply, please make some sense look like a 8th grader.@ backtothefront “Also regarding mixes with ‘2 pieces of static noise making vinyl’, you clearly haven’t done your homework, check out early Sasha, Carl Cox, Digweed mixes, lots of tricks going on there with scratching, accapellas, phasing with two copies of the track, even beat juggling with one track a bar or two behind the other” I started many moons ago when I was 14 (heck some of you weren’t even born) Had my first equipment @ 15 (3) KD 1500 wich I still own 1, a 3 channel mixer which still own, Ka 405 amp which still own, (4) cerwin vega 15″, try beatmatching 3 1500. Using a fader back and forth to beatmatch, my 6 year all granddaughter been doing it for the past few month( she’s been playing around with my set up since she was 5) all this ain’t hard all you need is practice my friend.
@ Dj Hessler “Then tell me one Top 100 DJ that uses 100% software and controller and not CDJs/Vinyl?” I learn to keep focus in me, what I can do, what I want, were I’m going, I don’t focus on what other Dj do.But you want 1 name, Richie Hawtin.
@ Kairi_Yamoto “The medium in which you use to entertain your crowd doesn’t matter, and quite frankly, all the effects and options that we have to choose from today are largely due in part to those who MANUALLY implemented it before we did. “Old school DJ’s”, as you put it, want that respect because without them, what we’ve got today wouldn’t be possible.”
See my reply to backtothefront.By the way I started in 1980 and yes I’m that old.
Edgard Rivera
ParticipantTo all the “Old school” It’s 2012 people, technology era. And enough with the “you ain’t a dj if you don’t use vinyl” and “you need to respect what my generation and the one before me did” get over it. We “digital dj” do a lot more that what you guys can do with 2 pieces of static noise making vinyl. A dj is the one that’s make the crowd go the dance floor.
