Good Day!
I just want to share you my experience last night. I was hired to DJ on a party for young Roraty Club gathering (Country wide gathering). And there is this person also in charge on the audio of the program. He was there all night beside me as he was assigned on the Program before the Party event.
So here it is, when I dropped the party starter track, he also then starts to drop on his Laptop some Samplers. He starts with Siren, and then throwing the “PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR” which is totally off beat on what I am currently playing and at the same time his volume is too high. He continues what he is doing until Primetime set and then he told me, “Hey bro can I play too? I’ll drop Love songs!” and I said “Dude this is not JS Prom”, so he backs off. And then after few minutes he again started to play samplers, all default samplers on VDJ to be specific except the “PUSH PUSH PUSH”. And it is destroying the set.
I already informed the organizers what he is doing but they said that guy is from the higher organizers. So they couldn’t do anything. He keeps on repeating it until the closing set.
If ever i’ll encounter same type of this guy on my next gig, How can I properly handle this type of guy? How do I stop him on polite manner?
Thanks guys!
ALWAYS DO A CONTRACT. If after informed the organizers he’s actions continue I pack my stuff and out of there while still getting pay. ALWAYS DO A CONTRACT.

With a controller if my laptop dies it would basically be the end of the night. But with a more modular setup I can always have something else prepared in case my laptop dies.
And…….if one of your cdj dies? you will be a jukebox, playing one song after another, lol. You won’t have trouble with a good computer if is use just for DJing. Worst thing to do is use the dj laptop as your personal everyday computer, that’s when thing go wrong.

35-50, you must be one of those Craiglist Dj. lol
500.00 for 4 hrs to start with my basic, no lights, no tv’s. I don’t worry about competition as I don’t advertise, if they contact me is because of word of mouth and they want me to do their wedding.Edgard Rivera

NO,no,no,no. By the time it becomes ready, it will be obsolete

I am leaning towards the HD 1500s due to the cost to benefit factor, but I would still like to hear from anyone who has used the crossfades before seeing as I’ve never gotten a chance to actually listen to them… Any help on that end? I hear that the earpieces don’t swivel to allow for facilitated single-ear use. Is it that big of a deal? (I wouldn’t know just yet since I’ve just been using my monster turbines as a temporary measure).
Lp crossfade 2 years no issue, almost indestructible. Better sound

Fine I accept that. Say you you use sync because you cant beat match…fine i accept that. Call it what it is…dont sugar coat it and dont make lame excuses.
When im playing House/tech/minimal/deep I will have all 4 tracks going not using sync. Its a tool that makes life easier and simpler that I agree with.
on the other note….how the F do you have 5 decks going at once? Can you post a mix of you using 5 decks? I am really curious as to what this would sound like, and what style of music do you play that you can have 5 decks going at once and make it sound clean?
No need for sync as most of those are at the same BPM

The fact is that the ordience and clubs only suffer from kids who wants to be cool and plays for themself and not for the ordience! And to compete with a kid that has not payed for his music/sw and that does play for nothing is not the easiest, because most club/barowners I know has no knowlage about music/gear or how a good or bad DJ sounds like. He only count the money spent on DJs every week. The DJ who takes zero money in sallary is the best DJ to him! It is for me not a good thing that more people are being able to DJ because they have no barriers and nothing to struggle with today and that is not a good thing. It is too easy and to cheap to become a DJ these days IMO.

Love the change from 1 to another, I am pleased with Serato Itch and my NS6. However, I want more hardware. I want to utilize the external mixer capabilities that the NS6 has, but I don’t know what to add.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I can add to my gear that will enable me to:
1. Trigger samples?
2. More effects?
3. Add a wow factor to live mixes. What is everyone else attaching to their NS6?
Is very limited what you can add to control function that the ns6 won’t do in ITCH, but if you want to add you’ll need a midi to keystroke converter software and another midi control. Here what I’m doing. I used traktor for along time with a mc 6000 and 2 sc2000 but I like to try new things so I bought a ns6 and really like ITCH but still like the fx of traktor. The 4 trak is exactly the same as the ns6 but it have the fx bar which is why is a whole new game with traktor (traktor mapping for the ns6 is really bad because of the fx section) that’s why I’m waiting for the behringer dv1 to add to the ns6 to use it for the fx section and 4 trak mapping, that way I can use either Traktor or Itch depending how I feel that day.

No it doesn’t but I assume that you can buy a power supply in Aus. all it is a transformer from 220 o 240 what ever you guys use there to 12V 2A.

i did consider the denon dn mc 6000 but i have two mc 2000’s and i feel claustrophobic playing them and press the wrong buttons quite often, the deck switch funtion i find completely unusable as the effect knobs etc are all in the wrong place and it takes too much mental strain to switch to the right deck under pressure. i liked how the mc 6000 has every feature you could possibly need but its all too cramped. also the buttons like cue 1 felt like they would wear out so i was always conscious that i should try to tap it less which isnt fun. so i ruled that out, i did really like the jog wheels on the denons with the touch sensetive platter on the top (which could be switched off) and the CDj style pitch control from touching the sides of the platter, does the vci 400 have that? the kontrols wheels look pretty rubbish as far as i can see. Also another deal breaker for me is the inputs and analogue mixe capability, can you run CD’s into the vci400/s4 and straight out of the mixer? i think in this sites review they said you need to rout it through traktor on the vci400, does that mean a timecode setup? i want to expand later and get cdjs and use them as a bakup should my latptop go into meltdwn. also the lack of rca out is a minor inconvenience on the vci 400. but everything else on it looks perfect. is it a case of good jog wheels or no analoge mixer?Get the 6000 with the 2 2000, that was my set up until 2 wk’s ago. Use the switch bottom to change from regular deck to sampler deck. The 6000 have the pitch fader on the top not on the side like the 2000. Yes is cramped but fun, 4 decks total control.

ParticipantTodd Oddity, post: 18542, member: 1042 wrote: I can speak to both options you are looking at… I use an MC6000 for most of my shows and *love* the unit, but I wanted something a little more flexible for my studio, so I got an X1600 and two SC2000s. It gives me the same workflow that I love on my 6000, but with a full featured (and absolutely beautiful sounding) mixer that I can hook my old CD decks, turntables, Ableton controller, or pretty much anything else I could come up with to…
It’s also given me some unexpected flexibility as I can now just bring one or two of the SC2000’s if I’m working somewhere with a cramped booth but a solid mixer.
All of that said, I agree with D-Jam, turntables are a giant pain in the ass – I haven’t had mine set up in over 5 years now. So really think through what you will want and need and then start shopping based on that.
Good luck!
Just curious but Why invest in the 1600 when you can use the 2000 with the 6000 (this was my set up up until this past week when I order the ns6) total control 4 decks with 4 line fader + individual fx for each deck

Now there comes my first question… (remember im a total newb): what do i need to look for in the software?? I mean.. i don’t really know where to start.. I dont know if I prefer, for example, VDJ above traktor because of ……?
At the moment i’m trying out VDJ. I got Serato but this only works with hardware so thats no use now i guess. Next step for me is trying the demo mode of traktor.
I’ve already downloaded the 162 page pdf with midi controllers and checking them out ass well. Was first thinking of the Numark mixtrack Pro, but also cam across these two:
http://www.bax-shop.nl/digitale-dj-controller/jb-systems-kontrol-2-dj-midi-controller/product-details.html
and
http://www.bax-shop.nl/digitale-dj-controller/jb-systems-kontrol-3-dj-midi-controller/product-details.htmlWould love to buy the NI traktor s2, but think this is out of my league and also a too big of an investment for a first midi controller.
any suggestions for hardware??
Hope u guys could give me some advice. I would more then appreciate it!!! Will try to post some updates on how things are going for me.
The one that suit your needs.
Seriously what genre of music will you play, do you like a wide range of FX, use of sampler, loops, scratch, mix one after the other or do mash up, then do hands on practice at a store. All controllers come with a version of a software (lite or full) just do some test and see what you like better. Befriend somebody at the store, let him know that you are serious about buying one just need to see which one fit you. That’s what I did before and tested a few controllers, some for a few days others for a few weeks and bought the mc 6000. By the way I mainly use Traktor but in rare occasions do use VDJ for video and my NS6 will be here this week so I’ll be able to try Itch.
