MemberI was put on the spot when I first used them. Luckily the other DJ loaned me his rekordboxed USB. The hardest thing to get used to was no cue point jumping and limited looping.

MemberI had a series of songs with which I knew the transitions so well that I could do them blindfolded. As you get more confident you can start bringing in tracks that you don’t know as well.

MemberThe only issue is that there are some really good programs on Mac that Aren’t on PC (traktor mapping, Osculator etc.)
If you can get a decent second hand mac it would be decent, but there are no real issues with PC. In fact my PC has proved more useful in more situations than my old mac.

last time I saw someone use vinyl (real or time code)Most popular software is Traktor then Serato.
Theres an upper class bar (the music is mainly ambient, jazz, minimal house etc..) and one of the DJ’s there exclusively spins vinyl. Though she doesn’t beatmatch at all.

MemberBanquo. It was a nickname I picked up in high school do to an unfortunate haircut. It stuck.

MemberYou’re speaking to someone who has the same issues. I have 30 hours a week of University + related coursework and I tutor. I work for between 10-15 hours a week on top of that. It’s not a huge amount, but I can save $130+/week.

MemberCasual Job. Thats how I do it on top of my study.
Arbite
MemberWhy would that worry you?

MemberShop around second hand as well. Like grabbing a second hand stereo system. I nabbed a set of Silver 303’s, and an amp and equalizer for under $100 aud, and it outperforms $500+ setups. Be aware that speakers take up a lot of room, and especially in smaller rooms that an be an issue.
For scale, thats a 24″ screen.

MemberI think I’ve been to that party…
Several times.

MemberIf you went for Old Greg, you would have to drink Bailey’s from a shoe.
Arbite
MemberYou can supposedly piggyback Serato controllers, so although they aren’t officially supported, they sometimes still work with each other.
