I think it’s quite clear who pioneer are targeting with this unit. I have been using a denon mc3000 since I sold my cdj1000s, and using traktor has opened doors that we’re shut with cdjs, but, since switching, I have found myself in a predicament as I have gained skills using traktor and have enjoyed not having to burn CDs, but as I use my iMac at home and don’t have a laptop I haven’t played out for ages. I also have grown out of love with traktor and the whole controller world, and have since regretted selling my cdjs. I was looking into a cdj900 setup but simply can’t justify spending such a gargantuous amount of money on it. All I want is to be able to compile a record box library and practice sets at home and be able to instantly mirror that on a standard club setup (without having to lug my equipment around) you say that the rx is lacking features EVEN when compared to a nexus setup and the abilities of the mixer on the rx is not as extensive as a djm900 mixer. This may well be true, but given that this whole unit costs less than a dim 900 nexus mixer alone (or 1 cdj2000) I think that’s forgivable, and expected. I was excited to see the xdj1000s release, but again, cost was not justifiable for me. With the xdj rx you will have the best of both worlds in my opinion (familiarity and compatibility with the kit in the clubs and a very reasonable price as far as pioneer goes) it’s such a saturated marketplace at the moment and I fully appreciate that a controller and traktor setup will give far more creative possibilities that a unit such as the rx can alone, but for me, and I’m sure many others, it’s exactly what has been waited for for a long time. By the way, I don’t work for pioneer, nor am I a fan boy by any means, but the fact that pioneers are club standards gives them the upper hand in the market. I will be eagerly anticipating the first reviews when it’s released, and assuming there are no major issues (such as the xdjr1 had, I will be ordering one)
