I mean if you don’t like it, you could sell the hardware on ebay for probably at least $600 alone, plus you would still have the copy of Live Intro. Also, the website didn’t quote me a price for Push + Intro, but here is the official feature comparison of Intro, Standard, and Suite

But then speaking from history with the launchpad: Ableton is never easy for a beginner.Have to agree with Terry, I’m looking at the Push, but right now I have a launchpad that serves as my main Traktor controller and I use it for Ableton Live. I’ve been playing with this thing since February, and I just figured out how to use the drum racks. I don’t know how fast you learn, but I usually pick things up easily, but this took me a while

I would DEFINITELY recommend going through the lessons that are included within Ableton…Anyway, definitely download Ableton first, it’s a hefty download (and a heftier price tag if you want to buy it) but it’s definitely worth it!…you can often pick up second hand copies of older versions (Ableton Live 8) on eBay for half the price of what Ableton 9 is going for…
Also, excellent advice! I have bought every piece of kit on eBay and probably saved at least $500. Also, if you are a student or teacher, Ableton will knock the price down by a couple hundred
The rates from their website
Push + Live 9 Standard – $868
Push + Live 9 Suite – $1048Alex Wray

ParticipantI swear, I had the weirdest dream night before last. I was at a party with several DJs, mingling with the crowd, waiting for the one in front of me to finish his set so I could go on. When I got in the booth, I realized I had left my laptop at home, a (one way) hour’s drive. Woke up drenched in sweat, shaking. Anyone ever have a dream like that?

I love Serato and I am no hip hop DJ…
I didnt mean to come off as “only DJs who play X music use Y product,” sorry if you got that impression. I was stating a general impression, which is why I clarified by suggesting he / she try both and see which he / she is more comfortable with

ParticipantThe general consensus seems to be that, when using timecode, electronic DJs use Traktor Scratch, and hip hop DJs use Serato Scratch, but honestly I would try both if possible and see which works better for you

ParticipantA little load increase would probably be expected. I mean, you’re adding more faders / lights / commands for Traktor to tell what to do, so it would increase the load a little. if its not slowing crazily, just a split second or so, you should be fine. Also, if it is the first time you were plugging it it, it might have just had to get used to having the new hardware plugged up

ParticipantI do adjustments with the EQ and faders, usually dont dont mess with the volume after getting it set, but don’t be afraid to just line it up and slam the fader across, which i do occasionally, usually by letting the first song build up to the chorus / hook, right before it drops, add a little postfader delay / echo / reverb , pause, and simultaneously slam it across and start the second song right at the drop

It is standard set to smooth I think. Since neither the manual nor the Traktor Bible give any visual representation of the curves used, I have to guess here, but what I wrote makes the most sense.
Guess you’ll have to play with the settings a bit.
Greetinx,
C.In Traktor Pro
Sharp – Extreme cut with crossfader, tracks just slam from one to another once you move it a little off each side
Smooth – Gradual bleeding from one track to anotherExtremely crappy visual example

I would HIGHLY recommend Inkscape, which is free and produces all-important Vector graphics (as opposed to raster) – that way you can scale, flip, change colours etc… and still keep it super-crisp.Nice look! Thanks!

One last thing, if anyone can work out a way to use an APC20 to use the remix decks on Traktor then please let me know.

Welcome to the social. I’m in college to become a chef at the moment. Also The only controllers that control Remix Decks are the F1 and the Midi Fighter, and the F1 is the only one with 100% control
