Forgot to mention that the first track on the mix is one of mine. I made it especially for this mix.

Posted my other reply before I saw this. I see your point about the software making it good value. I think because I already owned TP I felt like I’d already paid for that. But that’s just my situation, I know others will appreciate the software included.

And I suppose you’re right about the faders, it would have been as deep as a regular mixer and much heavier. I guess if you view it purely as a controller and not as a mixer than you won’t be disappointed 😀

Yeah the faders are the real let down for me. They just dont feel like they will handle fast cuts, on the upfaders esp, for a very long time before they break/wear out.

But, on the other hand, the ease of mixing in traktor with it almost balances out the negatives…

Sennheiser HD 25 SP, I love them. Don’t think I’d move to another brand. Would really like the HD 25’s but they’re a bit too pricey for me…

I recently moved from a HP to a MBP, which I got 2nd hand for £650 (dont know this in $$s) and I’m really glad I did.
It runs TP2 perfectly and feels like its got a lot of power left over. It’s a 2.53GHz Dual Core2Duo with 4G ram 2009 unibody.

I bought an S4 and really like everything about it, except for the build quality. It’s not bad, but does feel plasticy and the faders could be a lot more solid. I use mine every friday so have to take it with me to the club in a bag, the low weight makes this easy.
I think it’s a bit overpriced for the materials used, I happened to get a good deal direct from the supplier, I would’ve been disappointed if i’d paid full price…

The Denon looks really solid, but I havn’t really seen anyone talking about it online much, so I feel if I traded in for that I’d be a bit on my own if any problems/setup issues came up.

What about that A&H one, DB4 is it?

Cool, thanks Emma, glad you like! I’d never have thought of it as glitch, but there you go :p

I had a mains fuse trip on me once, so the whole place was suddenly silent. I dont use a mic (i dont do shoutouts) so I had to shout something about technical difficulties and an apology while the bar manager tried to fix the power. Most people were sympathetic, except one drunk girl who came up and started asking me for requests. I pointed out that there was NO MUSIC PLAYING due to power failure and that there hadn’t been for a few minutes, to which she replied “really? I hadn’t noticed…”

I’ve been producing for quite a while, more of a hobby than DJing, but it would be nice to get something released at some point!

Yeah, thats a nightmare, when people ask for stuff that you’re already playing!

Illinoize, post: 765 wrote: Not really annoying, but how about when people request songs and upon you mixing them in, give no reaction… refuse to do anything other than stand there and stare off into space. I don’t expect everyone to break out into the electric slide when I play requests but at least PRETEND like you’re enjoying your request. Help me get the people dancing, return the favor! If you wanted to stand and just listen to music, probably should have saved your money and remained at home 😀 And if the ladies/dudes are your motivation, a zombie like demeanor definitely won’t get you far… 😎

I HATE this. I have a girl at my regular gig who’s always drunk at 9:30 every week and insists on hearing kings of leon or blur, then if you play it for her she’s either just standing there looking like a stunned fish, or in the toilets. I also cant stand people who ask for something then if you havn’t got it they say “what HAVE you got?” What, am I supposed to list all 2500 songs on my harddrive?

I do 5 hours every Friday. 9-2, after working my day job as a gardener from 8-5. Saturdays are usually a write-off…
