I think Key Lock will help you here, it lets you change the pitch significantly and keeps the key (how the tune sounds) the same. For example to go from a 120bpm to a 130bpm. the 1st track is playing, bring up the tempo to 125 slowly over tune or at like a breakdown/drop/ build up. then have the second tune at 125bpm then beat match it. the tunes are then in the mix together.

controllers meeting the market is not a bad thing. Im sure EVERYONE (yourself included) has more equipment than ever they would like to try.

I love mashups, i find them just to be fun to listen to. Its really easy to find great mashup artist (i love girl talk and 3lau is amazingly talented) The only downside i find is that if your searching you find too many involving the same songs across many mashup artists (i can literrally name 1000 mashups with ellie gouldings lights or adele rolling in the deep. GRRRR.) There all good in their own right but i don’t think you could get away with playing similar songs too much in one set (any one with much experience feel free to comment).

Also i dont produce yet/ no plans. So the idea of live mashups is interesting to me as i get more gear but it still wont be as impressive as that which is produced.

Yea X1 is my next purchase to expand without a new controller to outdate my old one. The free upgrade to traktor pro 2 is worth it alone.
