one more thing: when you adjust the jog wheels to match the beats, do you do it with one ear to headphone or via speakers? I find it easier to do it with headphone but the problem is I can’t listen how the mix comes out from the speakers.

No I don’t lol. I always mix with volume fader before and I use EQ. I thought with crossfader you can get away without using EQ.

Exactly, so I don’t see the correlation with this jog wheels topic. Pardon my confusion.

^ If you just drop a track at the end of the previous song, you don’t need to beatmatch do you?

Apparently my setting was already smooth. I can seriously hear the bass gets more booming (not pleasant) as I slide the fader over.

wow, it used to be like that in my traktor. but since reinstalling it’s changed. does anyone know how to set so the total output is the same from each side? thank you.

I’m trying to mix disco and it’s easier to mix with crossfader. The problem is the sound gets too loud when the crossfader is on the middle.

Yes, if I fail to beatmatch I just get them as close as possible and only let them blend for a few seconds.

Yes it’s 70s disco. I just tried playing around with some tracks and I didn’t do badly. The problem I encountered was when I was beatmatching a new song with the verse of the playing song, then I drop the new song on the first song’s break, nasty trainwreck happened because the tempo of the break was slower than the verse and i didn’t expect that.

    rj: Why is it easier?

No, it’s the practice before your post. Haven’t tried your way yet. So, thanks!

I don’t get it, Terry. I’m a total newbie in scratching I don’t even know what baby scratch is.

played around with reverb but sadly it sounded like crap. gotta find a new way to do it.

I avoid unwanted lulls in breaks by dropping a new song (the part where the drums already hit) just at the beginning of the breaks but I’m not sure if this is the best way, I’m a beginner too.

I always drop a tune on the start of a breakdown or the first beat after the breakdown or at the start of a new “part”. I can’t judge for myself, but do you think it sounds boring? I find it difficult to drop a tune in the middle of a part.
