ParticipantHe can DJ, but he lives in the land of pop music now, things are done differently there. It’s not what I’m into, but I’m not going to hate on him for that.

ParticipantYou’re only as old as the women you feel!

ParticipantI got a decksaver for my S4 since I have a permanent DJ booth in my kitchen/living room (smallish Mahattan apartment), and it works wonders for transporting it to and from a gig.

ParticipantMy first public gig for a crowd was at Burning Man, how’s a 40′ circus tent in North America’s only true legit desert for weird!

ParticipantYou want “I Get Deep” by Roland Clark, it’s a house classic and very popular here in the US. I think beatport has an accapella version of it as well.

ParticipantI develop software for a Wall Street firm. I love it, but would rather be playing to a crowd every night instead. 🙂

ParticipantI think both are just really common inflatable props used at shows, so I guess they kinda favored those ones and it stuck.

ParticipantI tag all my tracks with the key, and here are some things I’ve found about playing tracks that way.
1) tracks with the same key or a key that’s an interval of a perfect fifth sound really great together!
2) tracks with a key interval that aren’t matched can be great for changing the energySo is mixing in key needed? No, but will mixing in key make your sets better? Most likely they will!
Anytime you stick within the rules of music theory your music will be more musical, but it’s not needed of course.

ParticipantHey congrats on the gig man, I bet you’re gonna totally kill it!!!! (that means do well) 🙂
If you do really well and everyone enjoys it, why not have the amount of money you get paid tied to the amount of money the bar takes in?

ParticipantPhil it really saddens me to find this thread here in this forum, it just doesn’t belong here.
It also saddens me to see people who obviously know nothing of the case beyond the hugely biased mistakes the media has reported to you, commenting with such strong language.
First off check out NBC’s creative editing of the 911 tape.
http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2012/04/05/nbc_s_botch_job_on_zimmerman.htmlHere is what NBC reported the tape said,
“This guy looks like he’s up to no good… He looks black.”Here is what the 911 tape really said,
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black. Here are some other MISTAKES the media made with what they reported to you!
– Zimmerman’s weight was 240lbs instead of the 170lbs he actually is
– Zimmerman had no injuries, in fact he had the shit beat out of him, and the media tried really hard to hide that fact
– Zimmerman called 911 46 times in 14 months, it was actually 9 YEARS!!!!
– Trayvon was suspended at the time for being late to school, actually he was suspended for being in an unauthorized part of school and when confronted and searched about it by school authorities they found a screw driver and womens jewelry in his backpack
– Trayvon can be heard in the background on the 911 call screaming for help, in fact there is NO WAY possible for anyone to know who it was, there are experts and family members claiming it was both of them, there is NO WAY to tellSo please stop eating up everything the media is telling you to get you angry, and stop talking politics in the DJ Booth section of this site.
If you want to want to express your highly predjudiced and misinformed opinions on a political topic, then please take it to the off-topic forum to spare the rest of us.
