Thanks for the speaker suggestions everyone! I think my best bet IS going to just “raid the piggy bank” and grab a pair of decent speakers to practice on rather than trying to MacGyver something with what I’ve got and have a subpar setup. Thanks for the help!

The speakers hook up to the laptop via a normal 3.5mm headphone jack.

And Bob, no I’m not plugging the speaker output into the back of the MP2. The speaker output is going into the laptops headphone port. What I’m trying to do is hook an RCA cable from the MP2 into the speakers, which only has a headphone jack.

Not my favorite style of music, but I really liked it. Seemed pretty clean to me and easy to listen to.

Are you talking about the “how to succeed at DJing” series, Terry?

I also have a couple 2.0 USB ports. Would those maybe work better?

Thanks Marco, I’m seeing that happen even after just messing around for a few days. And ya, Terry. I would definitely watch that video!

No, it’s an i5 processor. It happens every once in a while, but if I unplug it from the USB port (I’m using a 3.0 if that matters), and plug it right back in, that seems to fix the problem.

I know how to beatmatch manually. Although I’m no pro, I know how and definitely understand the concept behind it. Maybe the problem is that I was used to using the Sync feature in VDJ just on the computer, so using it in different software on an actual controller is just taking some getting used to.

I figured it was just a matter of getting used to something that I’m not used to (and was in fact used to a different way in VDJ). Thanks Terry!

Its a new HP Envy notebook and I’m using Serato DJ intro right now. It’s been fine the last couple days, but it still worries me a little

I’m looking at the style specifically where it drops at about the 1:00 min mark

And is it a soundcard the Mixtrack 2 doesn’t have? Or just an audio interface it doesn’t have (the audio I/O port on the back)? Or both?

No, it’s still a “pro” model. Thanks!
