Thanks for your reply! It came just in time, in fact, as I had pretty much made up my mind to go with Traktor and get an S4. I was thinking the benefit of being able to use the iPad as well as a laptop would outweigh the lack of stand alone mixer functionality and beatgridding limitations, added to which the S4 is £300 cheaper then the DDJ-RX/SX2.
After having gone back and thought it through a bit more, I’ve ordered Pioneer DDJ-RX. I quite like what I’ve seen of Rekordbox so far, so I’ll take my chances going all in on Rekordbox DJ. The current range of DDJ controllers still have pretty high resale value, so the loss wouldn’t be too great if in time I find that I want to switch platform, but I’ve got a feeling I’m going to like it! Looking forward to taking delivery and getting stuck in.
