MemberIMO you’d be better off waiting until you can afford a mixtrack pro or similar, that’ll take you a long way and you won’t grow out of it as soon as you would with an e2.

If u have $500 and don’t see the point in using a laptop. It would actually be a good purchase in case you also need a new laptop (say you’re old one isn’t good enough for running mixing software). Otherwise, I don’t really like it – mostly because of its lack of outputs (for the price..)

Right now, I have 7 midi controllers all gathering dust( well actually they’re wrapped in, but you get the idea) I also have four Scs4dj, and two iPad controllers, and can honestly say that the Scs4dj (my new one) is the go to device for any and all uses. (I’m not bragging, I’m just saying that I have options, yet choose the 4dj) Having the screen on the device is just sooo much better than a laptop screen which I have to look up at. I also run a line level source into the mic input and it sounds very good, and I can record that input along with the system sound. The beautiful bit about the scs4dj is that you can run a phone or tablet into that mic input and have a 3 or 4 deck controller, particularly nice with an iPad app with bpm, fx, and loops, like DJay.
