D-Jam, post: 409 wrote: I play different styles depending on the moment. Sometimes I’ll play deep soulful house or funky “jackin” house. Other times I’ll intertwine electro house with breaks. I recently got into more upbeat techno and tech-house. I also love energetic big room trance.

When I started back in 1992, I was buying a lot of the house from 1987-1991, but rave techno was also big at the time, so also played that.

Speaking of Jackin’ House, ever check out Carte Blanche? Hate to sound like an Ed Banger fan boy, but this collaboration of Riton and DJ Mehdi came about to replicate a golden era of Chicago House. If you haven’t heard ‘Gare Du Nord’, check it out immediately D Jam! I guarantee it’ll bring you back to the good ol’ days 😎 Not too many people are going for that sound anymore, and very few can pull off that specific sound, it was awesome to hear it when it first came dropped.

D Jam, please do let me know of any Jackin’-esque artists/DJs to check out, now and in the future 😀

I am literally all over the place with what I play (see my sig). However when it comes to straight up edm type mixing I think I like techno/tech house the best with house being a close second.

When I started out I went all over the place in genres. If it’s any music I prefer playing all night, it’s eighties and nineties hip-hop.

    1) Breaks
    2) Breaks

The nice thing about playing mostly breaks is being able to play stuff from pretty much any genre that’s the tempo range (which, for me, is 125 – 145. Obviously not at the same time …)

The easiest to mix without a doubt is modern… 1999 to present House like the Hed Kandi outfit put out.
The stuff i enjoy most to mix is 90’s progressive house.. oh and a bit of the above 😉

    Hi everybody!!!

For me its “techy” and “Housy” things…. you would be more clarified if you listen to SEBASTIEN LEGER ESSENTIAL MIX from 2010….

That is my style of mixing and my style of music… i dont care who the producer is…. it just has to sound good to me and make me want to dance for the rest of my life… xD

If you guys wnt to listen to the essential mix from sebastien leger ( and i am sure you wont be disapointed with it) jus google it…

I’ve been starting off with Electro House and Prog House. These are the genres i’ve noticed that I really enjoy the most when i’m out at clubs. These are also the genres that I’ve started to build my library with (although the occasional tech house or dubstep track that catches my eye joins the club).

I started with Mainstream House. But now I mostly mix 80s and 90s: freestyles, italo disco, funky, new jack swings, house and pop. Got addicted and find them very challenging with those unstable beats and unpredictable songs’ structures.

    Any of you tried Funk?
A mate sent a memory stick with some rasndom tracks for me to try, he is a master of this genre..
Unfortunately for me i cant cut or scratch to save my life so im gonna properly struggle with this stuff

Jungle and ragga jungle drum and bass and some breakcore is great fun but as I get older I’m mixing more house and tech stuff still always go back for a blast of rough stuff now and then but most people aren’t interested lol
