ParticipantI can’t think of anything right now. I just recently sold my APC40 and a Keystation on eBay. I’m happy with my Xponent, but everything new out there right now seems too expensive or too proprietary for me.
If AVID makes a new Xponent then I might get it.
Right now, my “saving for spending” money is more aimed at some new Tamron lenses for my camera, or an Android tablet.

MemberProbably some new cans. I’m currently using my studio cans, which do the job, but have crappy isolation and have no flexible cups. I’ve been eyeing off the Pioneer HDJ-1000s, they’re right in my price range =D Anybody have any suggestions?

MemberI’m in the market for a controller. My wife traded in the SUV for a new Suburu Legacy…..so my coffin and turntables won’t fit in it along iwht my bass, speakers and lights. Looks like the choice is between the VMS4 and the Xponent. The only thing about the Xponent is I would have to bring along my DDM4000 for the microphone inputs.

MemberDear Santa:
• A subwoofer. Or two.
• A new or rebuilt cabinet. Having both audio and lighting in the cabinet looks pretty cool, but it’s a pain in the ass to carry!
• Maybe a new smoke machine. Mine are tired.
• Another DMX power box for the truss.

MemberThinking about a Midi Fighter Classic for when I use CDJs and timecode vinyl.

MemberDefinitely going to upgrade from the Mixtrack Pro to the NS6. Hoping Itch 2.0 ushers in a new era… maybe Serato can step up their game. Though in all fairness, the Itch platform is relatively new.

ParticipantI could always use some more lights! But really, I have all the equipment I need right now, more that I can move with my truck, so I guess what I really need is a trailer!

I have dreams about this. I played with one at Guitar Center. Wasn’t all that impressed by Itch, but i think it would just be something you have to get used to. The fact that you can midimap the NS6 for Traktor is the appealing part. Then you can do a real comparison between the 2 softwares. If someone figures out how to effectively map the touchstrip for Traktor, I think I might be sold.

MemberYea Bernardo, I also had a chance to check it out at Guitar Center. Built extremely well. I was definitely impressed. I was pretty much set on an S4 but that all changed once I got to compare the two at GC. And yea Itch might be dragging behind but fortunately it suits my laid back style.

MemberExactly. The build quality is excellent on the NS6. I think it justifies the price in a lot of ways. Combine that with it’s ability as a stand alone mixer and the kinds of outputs it has, and it’s really hard to beat. Throw in the full version of Itch, with 4 decks and lifetime updates, and that’s a hard deal to beat. I think beyond the NS6, I’d start to consider a DVS set-up because you are already getting up there in price. I think it’s can only be a good thing to know both pieces of software as well and there is no real easy way to test out Itch without a certified controller. Hanging out in Guitar center just creeps me out and I can’t stand there long enough to get a feel for Itch with random music.
Damn, now I’m doing math in my head figuring out how to get my hands on one.

I feel you on that one

MemberLOL yes, don’t want to be a Guitar Center rat. And honestly, I don’t think you’re going to find a better deal than the one that just ended at Guitar Center. They had a Father’s Day promo worth 100 bucks. I should have taken advantage of that and snagged the NS6 but I guess I’m just prolonging my exposure to the marketing campaigns of other controllers. Giving them another shot to sway me. 😀
