I’m using VDJ for 3 years now and it’s really far good (at least for my style Electro/House/Dance)..no CD’s experience as I came back just from traditional vinyl setup

Virtual DJ because I like the blue and red waveforms. Haha.

Serato Scratch Live mostly and when i’m feeling too lazy to beatmatch i use the Virtual DJ 7. It works with my SL DVS set-up. Serato timecodes can control VDJ (though with some latency issues) and the SL3 sound card works with VDJ 7 too.

I’m currently using Ableton Live 8. I started out in 2003, messing around with a few different DJ programs, mainly one called DSS DJ. I switched over to Ableton around 2008 when I started using it to produce and I realized I could DJ with it as well. I’ve played around with Traktor a few times, but I’m much more comfortable with how I use Ableton now.

I use TP2 and VDJ 7 PRO, both software have strong and weak points but I’m also considering Ableton but it has a completely different workflow…

I’ve been using Traktor Studio + BCD2000 since Jan 2010. I installed VDJ Pro yesterday but the skins at my disposal didn’t sit right on my tiny 10.2″ netbook screen – I also sensed it would take a few weeks to get used to the different mapping (or just change the mapping to match TDJS+BCD2k). I’ve tried Traktor Pro and have the same issues with it not fitting on my netbook screen. I think I’ll be sticking with Traktor Studio until can afford to upgrade my DJing laptop, controller & software at the same time. It will be Traktor as my primary software whatever happens; but I’d install others to gain familiarity if it were cost effective to do so

I’m really into VirtualDJ. I’ve tried the others but this one fits the bill nicely. I sometimes use MixMeister to work out a rough mix so I can play about with mix placement before doing the real thing.

Got to say though, I’ve been into music production and DJing for years but only really performing the classic type of mix. How do I learn to spice things up a bit like the real club DJs?

That’s not Virtual DJ, bro. That’s your PC.

I just screwed up the results and clicked Traktor when I actually use T2. 😳

I agree. It’s amazing how many times the problem isn’t the software, but the machine it’s on.

Yea, ever since I started running VDJ on a different user account I’ve had no issues 😀
