Requests don’t really bother me, but this is an exception. No tips I might add.
yea i feel you.You play their request, and they keep coming back for songs that interest THEM only, and dont tip,Cmon lol

Participant1) I never have any cable to hook up an iPhone.
2) Even before I say that, I’ll tell them that if I hook up her device it’ll cause problems in the system and possibly make things crash.

“Why yes, I take them all! Some, I even play.”

MemberThis past weekend, after playing hip hop for about an hour or so, people enjoyed it (I hate spinning Hip Hop btw) and were dancing, then it was time to move into my normal top 40 dance tracks for the remainder of the night. This is when people really started dancing and getting wild. However, I had one of the girls that was dancing to the hip hop come up to me and blatinetly look at me in the face and tell me that I was the worst DJ ever and that she’d never come back!
I was like whoa!!!
Just caught me off guard. Personally I would NEVER go into a club/bar with a dj or a band and request something. I think that it is totally disrespectful. I don’t understand who raised these people. Serious lack of respect.
Would you ever go into a lawyers office and start offering legal advise? NO, same thing in my mind….

ParticipantMeh…that comes with the territory Architekt. She was a trixie in the way I described it. She thinks the world is all about her and thus thinks everyone should be at her beck and call.
Imagine if some idiot thinks of marrying her…she’ll be a total bridezilla.

ParticipantSeeing as a few of us chimed in on it, I’m wondering.. has the “Yo, can I just hookup my ipod” thing ever panned out between patron and DJ with it working in the patron’s favor?
This would baffle me more than the ‘request’ itself.. but seeing that alot of controllers and karaoke setups have provisions for iPods I can see why some folk would think it’s cool to ask

MemberDuring the last minute of any song you’re trying to transition from, an invisible light pops up. COME TALK TO THE DJ.
DJ Stone Crazy, post: 1048 wrote: Seeing what Jorn said, I think rock guys are the worst assholes in a bar, club, etc. Not only do they run off some of the women. Some of them are racist assholes!!! Not all rock guys are like this. Still, some are just plain no good.
Rock people can be douchey, but here lately my most annoying hangabouts are dubstep kids. They seriously throw tantrums when I don’t play more than one floor-clearing WOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOMWOM song in the middle of an ass-to-crotch rap set. When I do play almost anything, they stand off to the side of the dancefloor and do their whatever that is dance. Thanks for kicking people in the shins as everyone else bails.
