    Stanton: Clear No.
    Pioneer: OKish
    MC3000: no it is outdated

However none of those controller offer a significant gain over the Mixtrack Pro.
I would save money and wait for an upgrade to a more pro controller, like a Terminal Mix 8, DDJ-SX or MC 6000 Mk II.

In the meanwhile you could invest in an addon controller like the reloop Neon which will basically give you everything you would get from upgrading to the SB with a smaller investment.

Would you recommend the Hercules DJ 4780729 Console RMX 2 DJ Controller?

    Hi.

Nope, wouldn’t recommend it under the circumstances. It’s a DOWNgrade from the Mixtrack, imho.

If it’s the performance pads you are missing, Terrys advice is solid about the NEON or upgrade to the Mixtrack Pro 2.

I am a bit baffled how you can find 4-channels confusing, yet want to upgrade from a Mixtrack Pro to a controller with more knobs and buttons overall AND performance pads? Are you sure you are ready for that upgrade?

DDJ-SR. I use one pretty regularly, and it’s a solid piece of gear. 2 channels, performance pads, and a lot of the other new “toys” you get with new tech nowadays.

I would look at the Pioneer DDJ SR before the DDJ SB. It’s a solid controller and it comes with the full version of Serato DJ. If you shop around you can get it for about $499.

Although at first glance the SR looks like the 2-channel version of the SX2, there are a few differences that are not obvious.

It’s a good controller, the jogs have the same (backspin) issues as the other Pioneer controllers, so depending on if that is important to you, you might want to take that into consideration.

    Good luck with your choice.

You find 4 channels confusing because you haven’t used them with a controller. Trust me, once you have all the faders and buttons in front of you, its not as daunting as it seems on the computer screen.

Get a 4-channel controller, you won’t regret it.

well, since you seem to be 200 USD off from that 500 USD budget with the MC6000mk2 and the Terminal Mix 8, you’d probably be looking at things like Mixtrack Quad (249), or Beatmix 4 (399) terminal 4 is a little over at 545.

Anybody else got any good suggestions?

A used VCI-400 on eBay maybe? I know we’re not talking about traktor, but I picked up a used s4 on eBay for less than 500. You can also get a MC6000MK1 on eBay for less than that.
