    I like many others grew up in the heyday of clubbing and I never wanted it to go away. Mixing keeps me happy and reminds me of the good times. I get so excited when I either find an old classic or a really great new tune.

    Long live the original SuperDJs 😀

    Frankly. I don’t know. For some reason, a couple of months ago, something about DJing piqued my interest, what, I cannot tell. I ended up downloading Mixxx, and started reading around on various DJ forums, watching videos, trying to learn everything there is.

    Next thing I know, I’m failing horribly at beatmatching, but I’m having a blast doing it. Those few months ago, I knew shit all about music. Sure, I listened to it, knew my way around my preferred genres, what distinguished them, notable producers n such, but very few technical details. Now all of a sudden, I know about BPM, bars, EQing, filters, beatmatching and I have a Mixtrack Pro ordered and on the way.

    I did not expect to become seriously interested in DJing, and even less did I expect understanding anything about it. But here I am, unskilled, but definitely not lacking in motivation.

    For me it was simply the love of music and wanting to share it throughout my community. I mean where i live, its either you listen to one set of music or your not in with the crowd. =D So, i just never stuck with the crowd, and spanded (missuse of word0 off on my own. Also it was the inspiration of another Dj who I’m learning from.

    I’ve always liked Djing world, but actually took the decision to start when I begun “producing” 😎

    What inspired me to DJ was obviously my love and passion for music but I always had problems with music that others liked and DJaying allows me to force others to listen to the music I enjoy. Its cruel but true. I also went to some clubs and I never had any girls to dance with due to my frequent social anxiety but I would just find a corner and stand and listen to the music, I wanted to be a part of something or be involved someway.

    That is a Nice Reason to become involved NAT :);
    And I have No Problem Whatsoever in you Forcing others to Listen to what ‘You Like’; because it is the ‘Name Of The Game’; I Understand Lots will have Differing Views; but I can’t see How we can Become Individuals by saying ‘Yes Sir – No Sir’; I also Understand your Social Anxiety as I Suffer too; but when you get up in that DJ Box you will Feel ‘Safe’ like you used to when you used to stand in a Corner; I Wish You Well 🙂

    Sounds like me too 😉

    I can not dance what so ever, but I love my music, and by DJing, I can get into the music, and nobody looks twice if they see a DJ head-bangin to their crazy mix in the booth. In fact they get right into it and have an awesome time too! 😀

    Djing is my dancing….
