    WBMX, WGCI, and even B96 back then did do wonders.

    I love collecting music. I love the free booze. Plus I love watching the girls shake that booty.

    I always loved music since i was born, but i don’t feel like listening to one kind of music all the time, i need the genre to evolve every day, so electronic music came into my life. Since that day i wanted to give to ppl the same sensations and emotions that i feel when i listen music.

    I was always listening to music. I used to have an iPod plugged into my ear all the time (though I’ve recently ditched that in favour of my phone and my DJ headphones). I was at my half-brother’s wedding reception and I found myself more entertained by talking to the DJ and watching what he was doing than anything else. That got me into it. I downloaded VDJ when I got home and basically fell in love with the way you can mess with music.

    At parties I ALWAYS used to do everything in my power to have MY music playing, which pissed off a lot of people. Last summer my mate downloaded Traktor and introduced me to it, I thought ‘I’d be pretty good at this’ so got it myself and soon after I bought a Mixtrack and X1.

    Like everyone here I’ve always loved music and had a very eclectic and wide ranging set of musical tastes, then in my first year of uni I saw a mate of mine DJing with Virtual DJ in his room (no controllers, just mouse and keyboard), and I thought it looked like a lot of fun. And the rest is history.

    My inspiration is two-fold. I remember going to live shows (Lords of Acid specifically) back in the day and just loving the opening DJ’s. How they could make the music feel like one 60 minute song was just amazing to me.

    Also Minneapolis used to have some great DJ’s on the radio that I fell in love with. I would hang out with friends and listen and educate them on techno every Friday and Saturday night. Sadly the radio stations are gone or have changed, but the DJ’s are still reppin’ Minneapolis.

    What Inspired me to start DJ’ing was the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix that I listened to and Recorded every Saturday night :);
    Having heard the Greats; such as Carl Cox and Dave Clarke; a sense began to grow Within Me that ‘I Could Do This’; and not only that; but that ‘I Can Do Better Than This’; (Not Better than Cox/Clarke; but some of their Transistions); so; having bought 2 Pioneer CDDJ’s; a Pioneer Mixer; and Complimented this with my PC (No Software) and 2 Cassette Decks; off I went :);
    I was Determined to Emulate Carl Cox’s 4 Deck System; which I did; and then went on to use 5 Decks Successfully;

    I started listening to EDM music 2 years ago. It all started with electro house. At first I thought DJs play with instruments to manipulate sounds. Then I learn that they DO manipulate sound, but songs that have already exist, not songs they make like you would on a guitar. That sparked my interest further. Then I started listening to trance and it just brought my interests further.

    I’ve played drums for most of my life. Everytime I tried starting a band it never worked. Eventually started getting into House music and growing up in miami, started hitting up the clubs. I fell in love with the power that a DJ posses. The ability to control the music, control the crowd, however he/she wanted. More importantly, watching bad DJ’s and figuring out why they were bad and what I would have done differently.

    So i’ve downloaded Traktor, am starting to learn about cue points and beatgridding, building my library, and saving up for the Twitch as soon as it comes out.

    The love for music inspired me most definitely.When up there doing my sets, it is a good feeling to see people react to the tunes your spinning.
