Thanks for introducing yourself. You’ll be busy here, we have been “plugging” the new Beatmix 4 (because of the full free Serato) on here since the show in Frankfurt. And I know for a fact quite a few people are still contemplating buying one. So do pitch in when asked about them!
As far as getting out there, getting gigs, etx. Look on the blog for articles by D-Jam on promoting yourself. A must read if you are struggling with these issues, imho.
Where asking other DJs for help is concerned, it’s a good plan but don’t be disappointed if they are not all as welcoming and helpful as we are 😀 . Some DJs like to keep their stuff close to their chest and don’t like “interlopers”. I hope your scene is better and there are some guys there that WILL help you out.
Playing on expensive CDJs is actually a lot easier than you might imagine now. Feature-wise, your controller has more to offer than a CDJ. So I would not worry about that. When/if the time comes to play on CDJs, there’s plenty of posts on here to help you with both practical matters and getting your mind in the right frame.
