Nah, he’s a wedding DJ, We do that kind of stuff. As long as you don’t wear them all night, no biggy LOL.

Now he MIGHT want to get a helmet, of course.

The #1 thing that will chance your presentation in a heartbeat would be to no longer be dependent on a venue table to set up your gear (and at the same time getting it to a better working height) is to buy something like this:

Might wanna look around, in our part of Europe you could get the ProDJUser version of it (cheaper than the one in the link) and in the US I believe Odyssey has them (also cheaper).

These things set up in literally 30 seconds, are very sturdy and can handle the rigors of the road (mine’s been in use for 3 years or so and I know Terry has one too). The extra shelf provides extra space to stack stuff. I have made it so I can attach a 60cm by 60cm RGB LED (ceiling) panel on the front which I can operate with a small remote control. I usually have it set to slow chase/fade or permanent color. But even without it, your setup looks a lot more professional than sitting on what is clearly a table you didn’t bring yourself.

    Just my two cents.

Obviously you could look at one of these:

or one of it’s bigger brothers.

This will however cost you quite a bit more. I’ve looked at them at the show in Frankfurt earlier this year and they are very nice. Als set up in under a few minutes. With the right decals/logos and backlighting they look totally awesome. Just included this to show what’s possible.

Oh, and I didn’t mention that specifically, but go to Ikea or someplace and get one of those velcro “tubes” that you can wrap around cabling. When you are done hooking things up (try to run it all off around one side) you velcro one of those things around it and it looks sooo much cleaner. Cheap fix.

Haha ya the sunglasses were part of the wedding – all the groomsmen had them.
As for tables, I have my own much smaller table/booth that I always use except they specifically asked me to set up at that spot with their table — Sure, whatever makes you happy. I do like the looks of those booths with a white section to put an uplight behind.

The velcro tubes you mentioned (GREAT IDEA), got a picture or link? I’ve seen velcro cloth tubes before designed for computer networking cables but I can’t find them online.

Yeah, you can even set a beamer behind it and project video on it, or just swap the front panel for a 50″ plasma (so much for portability though, lol).
