That is because you ask the hard questions, Todd.
We are all expecting a new unit from Pioneer like the XDJ-2000 or so. There could very well be a SZ2 in the pipeline (with or without screens). But you never really know til it’s launched. And everybody that bought the previous unit a month earlier will be somewhat sorry. Then again, if you wait for the next one, rumors will have started about new developments and you might want to wait some more.
Unless there is something you absolutely need to fulfill your DJ ambitions and it’s not available on the current gear, I would not wait. I’d make sure I knew exactly what I wanted and what would be my nice to haves. Then I’d set a hard budget for myself and finally I’d look around at the available options. And if the day after I buy my unit someone comes out with something better, I’d just make sure I made enough money with the unit I bought so I could upgrade it soon.
