Clearly there should be sound. I do understand that setting VDJ correctly for sound output might not always be straightforward.

I’ll leave this one for one of our more experienced VDJ users, perhaps there is even one with the same controller so you can easily compare note.

    Good luck.

Can you post a screenshot of the audio settings page?

And have you installed the latest drivers for the controller? The audio settings should use the “ASIO” drivers in windows..

If it’s a full VDJ license as well, you should take advantage of the free upgrade to Virtual DJ 8 as well. It’s much easier to setup..

I tried to post the screenshots, but it won’t let me. It keeps asking for a URL instead of letting me post it directly.

So far the two main settings that I have tried were:

ASIO v.2 Master Ch3&4, Headphones Ch1&2; Speakers Realtek Digital Audio

4.1 Soundcard Master Rear Output, Headphones Front Output; Speakers Realtek Digital Audio

Still no luck, I even reinstalled ASIO

Hey Axel, you should use a site like tinypic or something to upload your pics, then post the resulting link in your message.

So my understanding is that the audio should be:

    ASIO Drivers

    Master Output: 1&2
    Headphone Output 3&4

Make sure that you have master output etc. set in VDJ as well.. There might be a dial on the controller for master volume?

Just tried all of that and made sure the dials were all the way up as well as on VDJ and still no luck. I have my PC speakers plugged into master. Audio will play on things like videos, so no need to disconnect them and plug them into the audio jack. I’m just not getting any sound from VDJ. I hope it’s not a defective soundcard.

    Two things to correct:

    1) Your outputs are backwards. Master should be 1&2. Headphones 3&4.
    2) You’re not using the right ASIO driver. Do not use asio4all, use the Numark driver.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had to dig into v7 settings, but those two corrections should fix you up.

Thanks for this info. Where would I find the driver on the Numark website? The only downloadable drivers that I found were for this: http://www.numark.com/product/djio and I’m not sure if this will work or not.

Hmm.. Interesting. My bad. I just did a little digging and apparently the Edge requires no drivers… so, slight change to my advice:

    Inputs: None
    Outputs: Headphones (master 1&2 / headphones 3 & 4)
Sound Card: 4.1, then select Numark from the drop down list.

There is a thread on the forums of someone having a similar problem and talks about how they fixed it. Worth a read: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/182839/Hardware_Technical_Support/numark_mixtrack_edge__not_working_with_VDJ_pro.html?search=mixtrack%20edge&page=1.6

Thanks. I will say I managed to install Serato and it works perfectly now. But if anyone will help me find the Numark driver for VDJ, that would be great because it will take me some time to learn Serato. I am already familiar with VDJ, its interface, and layout, so it’s easier to use.
