These are usual problems with beat detection in software, especially since dubstep is different accentuation than “usual” music. This is why we learn manual beatmatching…

I think even manual beatmatching is hard in those kind of music. Am I wrong?

Actually I found dubstep to be quite easy to beatmatch manually, as it has a very distinctive double time count when you get used to it.
I just do it the way most DJs do it: Turn up the track you want to sync way to fast and then slow it down until it is right.
Good thing with dubstep +/- 1 or even 2 bpm is good enough most of the times for a decent blend, as the blend will be over long before they outsync.

Ya honestly that fact that the bpm reads wrong doesnt bug me much. As I practice ill learn around that. What does bug me is that When I load up a track and hit play, Virtual DJ automatically syncs their bpm. Without me changing it myself or hitting the sync. Quite a nuisance if you ask me. Has anyone had this problem? or is it just that I am using the free Home version.

Hmm funny, never had that, but then I only used VDJ Pro.

Right on. Ill fiddle with it some more. Hopefully after my move later this month (and get the paychecks flowing back in) i can make the plunge to a Mixtrack pro and get off the free software. (a lot of the settings in the free version dont seem to change anything. Idk if its my specific copy or just a glitch in the free version.)

Have you tried tap tempo? I use this function a lot when I feel the tempos don’t match up. The tap tempo should be available on the home version of VDJ.
