ParticipantAre you running the Home edition (without a controller) or the LE version packaged with various controllers?
I’m running VDJ LE on my MacBook Pro 13″ and a Mixtrack and I have no issues with Cues loading or skipping. I also had no issues when running the Home version before I received my controller.
Are you just using your internal soundcard?

KeymasterPerformance wise it’s probably your setup as VDJ is capable of rock solid performance.

+1 to that. I’ve used VDJ and it’s been one of the most stable programs I’ve ever used, alongside Traktor.
I’d also have to agree that Traktor is a somewhat more professional program – the effects are a lot better and the cues can be used more creativly. Try the demo, you might like it.

MemberI’ve been using VDJPro7 on my net book for nearly a year now and I really enjoy it. I run two decks and have mapped my keyboard.
My cons:
1) I think VDJPro7 is meant to run on something more than a 1.6GHz Atom processor, so many of my skipping/lagging issues stem from this
2) The effects (in particular echo) seems a bit tinny (if this makes sense). Again, this could all be due to my tiny processor.December 20, 2011 at 3:47 pm #11712Marco Roa Frias
MemberVDJ is a capable controller true. The reason I moved to Traktor was I felt limited using the LE version of VDJ. And I felt that Traktor had more to offer to me though. But Both are good programs.

Memberof coarse you will feel limited by vdj le, it is a “limited edition” I use vdj pro, and have found no limitations in the software, the effects have become a lot better recently and any gaps with things like reverb and filters can be overcome by using much more powerful vst’s

ParticipantSounds like you have a problem. Like Phil said VDJ is normally rock solid. Maybe you don’t have enough ram or to much programs running in the background.

MemberPicking between the two is much based on your own preference. some like VDJ some like Traktor.

i use VDJ and it’s an alright program but i feel like its a very very limited program with it’s starter effects and samples. cues can sometimes load in a split second off and it seems to Skip for me a lot. I’m not sure if its just my sound card or not but I’m not liking it.
I use Vurtual DJ Pro 7 and the “Mix Station 3 Skin” with my Numark Mixtrack Pro controller (because there is more to it than what firstly meets ones eye), another thing it allows me to keep my Tracks in the same folders which I had originally created (Sets, Genres and so on), while I found Traktor put all of my tunes (35 + Gb worth) into One Folder!
Another thing is that I do not need to spend too much time to search for another track to load on seeing I normally Mix Off-The-Cuff! Also I use Virtual DJ because it allows me to broadcast and mix live on my various weekly shows on different Internet Radio Stations which use Shoutcast Servers (there are not many about which use IceCast which Traktor uses!).
Just a note both Virtual DJ & Traktor LE are “Limited Editions!” Obviously which program to use is really the individual DJ’s choice because what is good for some DJ’s may not be good for others!

ParticipantIf you have trouble with your SW it is in most cases because your computer has an “issue”
More often if it is a PC. It might be a slow processor, Vista has many issues, some other SW that runs in background like virus prog or auto update, lack of RAM and so on.So tell us what computer, OS, Processor, Ram and so on and you might get some help.
