    use the scarlett in mono?

If you can “aggregate” both your built-in sound-card and the Focusrite, then in your software you should be able to use one for cue and the other for master.

On Mac aggregate is a built-in function, for windows I think Asio4all allows it.

Asio4all 100% allows it. I use a similar system on a secondary laptop on my setup. Primary is a Denon MC6000mk2

I had to due this once in a pinch. One important thing I’ll note is that I found my MacBook output to be much quieter than my mixer. In fact, I had a very hard time hearing anything through my headphones over the speakers.

How is mono not fun? A large number of venues will be on mono!
