KeymasterThe NS7 is heavily designed to work with ITCH. You’l more than likely lose the tight jogwheel control it’s so good at if you try and remap to Traktor. That said, you should head over to the Native Instruements Traktor forum and see if anyone over there can help you, as that’s where you’ll be most likely to find someone who’s done this.

ParticipantDo you have the NS7 or the NS7FX? What do you plan to do/trigger with the APC that you can’t with the NS7 currently?
Also, never buy gear for what it “might do later” or is “promised to do later”. You will end up getting burned most times as the Bridge was something that was supposed to be brought to Itch by now, but doesn’t seem to be on the radar now. There are some work arounds to trigger the SP6 sampler and some other basic functions within Itch from an external device such as the APC40, but it is very limited.

MemberI don’t know why you’d need the Bridge to use Ableton, just use the NS7, an APC40, and something like an Audio 2 for ableton’s sound. Plug everything (with a hub if you don’t have 3 USB ports), and open up Itch and Ableton. If you route Ableton’s output to the Aux in on the NS7, congratz, you’re now running a much more stable version of the Bridge. There’s absolutely no reason you’d need 2 laptops, just an audio interface for Ableton (if you’re getting an Ableton license, you’re going to want a powerful sound card anyways.)

MemberThis maybe a dumb question, but would using an external soundcard for the NS7 and APC40 allow me to sync Ableton Live with Itch?

ParticipantWhat are you using Ableton for that Itch can not do?

MemberIts not so much the software (though I’ve heard Ableton is a great piece of software ). My main focus is being able to use the APC40 with my NS7. If I could use both with Itch that would be fine with me. But as far as I know the APC40 doesn’t work with Itch that’s why I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to have both programs “play nicely” with each other.

Memberwhat do you want the apc to do specifically.. It is designed to allow you to play a live set using ableton audio clips. If you want to do something different you can use VDJ. The NS7 is mapped natively, but you would have to download the mapping for the apc and tweek it to suit what you are after. You can also rewire ableton to VDJ as a slave, so vdj controls the transport of ableton through the NS7 exactly like the bridge, but you lose the ability to record your actions like you get in serato.
If you want to give it a try download vdj home activate the Pro trial and the NS7 will be good to go.

I saw this video and really fell in love with the idea of playing multiple audio clips while still doing your thing on your controller. I feel this brings would expand my possibilities for coming up with creative mixes. I know Itch has the SP6 feature, but I don’t like the idea of having to mess around with my laptop to initiate the samples etc.I totally forgot all about VDJ. I did some quick research on the NS7/APC40/VDJ compatibility and it seems like it all could work. I’m going to try to get my hands on VDJ sometime this week and test it out.

ParticipantYou can map triggering the SP6 to the APC40. That’s why I originally asked you what you wanted to do with it…
