another trick that sounds cool sometimes is bass swaping. when your mixing into a track (with the treble and bass turned down), once your about half way through the phrase your mixing in (usually 16 or 32 bars), turn up the bass eq of the track your mixing in and turn the bass eq down of the track your mixing out. most house songs have couple notes in the verse where there is no kick drum; this is the perfect place for a bass swap. can defo sound sick if done right 😀
