Traktor Pro doesn’t, but Scratch Pro does.

    Traktor supports the SCS.1d.

What? I had actually never heard of these Stantons! Is this another choice to consider? Can anyone comment on how these perform compared to the Denon SC3900s?

I own them. I like them a lot, but I’m hard pressed to recommend them unless you know what you’re getting into.

Yeah, I almost forgot about those :-). Obviously we didn’t mention the NS7 either, did we? Which will give you all the motorized platter action, with total controller experience, without any of the cabling and hooking up issues.

    Here’s the link to Phil’s April 2010 review: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/04/new-stanton-scs-1-system-review/

One thing I noticed is that they are firewire, not USB, devices. In a PC it’s pretty easy to add a firewire interface (as most PC’s don’t have one). Laptops might have one (bigger chance than with the PCs), but if not, might be harder to retrofit.

Firewire is a finnicky standard and all kinds of converters (like USB to Firewire) tend to NOT work properly more often than not.

Oh well, nobody ever said chosing would be easy 😀

I saw some on ebay for 199 a pair. I believe this was in the US. They are no longer available in any of the european online stores I checked.

But at 199 a pair, there is not much harm to be done. Don’t like them, trash them 😀

Apparently they are no longer supported by mixvibes, not in the supported controller list anymore anyway.

    ^ wot Vintage said.

They could be good for you but as already mentioned they’re firewire only, not usb.

For my money it would be the Denons or the Numark NS7 II. I went for the Denons in the end, even though they’re more expensive for 2 decks than the NS7, because they also play cd’s/mp3 cd’s and will take a usb stick directly.
I don’t trust any brand of laptop to run 100% of the time so I wanted options for continuing the music in case of a dead laptop.
