I recall someone mentioning having problems with their DJ controller while hooked to USB3 and their only solution was afaicr to switch back to USB2. That said i have been running TM4 on USB3 for nearly 2 weeks now and never had a single issue.

    Haha!

I’m having a beef with Native Instruments about that. Bought a shiny new Dell XPS, Blue screens whenever I plugin my S4 on one of it’s USB 3.0 ports. Still not fixed and I have this laptop for over a year now. Still using my e-sata – usb 2.0 combo port!

Same problem here, i have an old Omni Control and my laptop also crashes while installing the drivers.
I’m currently having contact on the numark community forum and one representative told me i couldn’t expect any driver updates since my omni control is discontinued. He told me i had to use my usb 2.0 ports and it should work fine. Sad thing is, i only have usb 3.0 ports >.<

I wonder what to do next, are there any other ways to connect the controller without using USB? Are there ways to convert USB 3.0 into USB 2.0 using some kind of USB Hub??

yeah i’ve read many horror stories about usb 2.0 soundcards and controllers causing BSD when connected via usb 3.0 ports….only solution is to get an usb 2.0 hub and plug that into the usb 3.0 ports if your laptop doesn’t have usb 2.0 port……i’ve read also that most soundcard and controller companies state that it is not their problem and it should be the drivers of the usb 3.0 that should be corrected with an update.

Fortunately, my laptop has a USB 3.0 and 2.0 port. I run an S4 Midi Fighter Pro, and the F1, and I found out the hard way that the S4 doesn’t like USB 3.0, as it did blue screen.

What’s worked for me is simply hooking up a USB 2.0 hub to the 3.0 port. Problem solved. ^_^
