Also I found MC3000 and VCI 100 for 500$ and 600$, is there any place they are cheaper?BTW
What is Midi Fighter exactly? I didn’t understand how to use it with effects and why is it good with a controller? Thanks!
Hi Adam. Thanks for starting this post. A big thumbs up plus one.
I don’t know if you can do Amazon over there, but they have it at around the 400 dollar price range.
Same with this site:
http://store.djtechtools.com/traktor-kontrol-s2.html
That site has a few bells and whistles (sample pack, mapping, shiny buttons) extra for free. I don’t know how much you’d pay for duties/customs and shipping. Sorry.
I checked long and hard on ebay and lots of 3rd party sites, and that is basically the Xbox/Apple wa.y that Native Instruments seems to be doing business right now. Most, if not all sites are set at a bare minimum of 399 USD.
This site will field offers for negotiation, but I don’t know how much they will be willing to go down. Give it a shot, though. I know someone who got a decent deal by asking.

Hope this helps.

ParticipantThank you very much 🙂 Do you think I should go with a new S2 or second hand VCI 100 (not MK II) + Audio 4 DJ?

I’ll have to leave it to the experts here to answer you on that one. However, in another post I started, somebody said they went w/ a Traktor controller because they were offering a free upgrade to the new software when it comes out.
That would be a freebie of about 78.00 USD, by their current upgrade prices.
I briefly considered the VCI 100, because it got high marks, but in the end, went with the Denon 6000 for the reasons I stated.
Guys? Thoughts?

The VCI 100 is old now and a bit long in the tooth, go for the S2! You will not be disappointed by this controller, and you will get TP2 included (+ any future updates including the soon to be released TP2.5 with remix decks!)
Once you have mastered this controller you could look at adding separate controllers to complement it, like the Midi Fighter, or the new, soon to be released NI F1.HTH

ParticipantThank you all very much, as soon as I sell my Mixtrack Pro I will get a new S2. About the midi fighter, didn’t really understand how to use it with effects.. Can you turn the buttons so you can decrease / increase effect’s amount?
And what will you do with the effects on the controller and the cues on the controller if you have midi fighter?
Thanks!

You can map the Midi Fighter separately from the S2. You can use it along side the S2 in the same way you use your laptop keyboard along side the S2, just think about it in the same way; its just an extension of your controller.
Because it is an extension, the Midi fighter would control some functions that the S2 would as well, however it is Midi mappable so you can map it to do what you want.
This video is one way to use it.

ParticipantHow does he increase and decrease the amount of each effect?

Its all to do with the settings within Traktor. There are modifiers that you can set to do certain functions when buttons are pressed. To be honest its pretty advanced stuff, but if you do enough digging around on line you can find more info about it. Watch all the video and Ean explains what the buttons do (from 2:55 onwards)
If you wanted to increase / decrease the wet / dry you would use the S2 knob for this. There is a link underneath the video that links to DJTT site with further info on it

This is there mapping for the Midi fighter, which you would just import into Traktor to make it work.
