Hi Glenn, this question is going a bit outside the Digital DJ Tips realm to be honest. You are looking for a straight analogue setup by the look of it.

Might want to search the forums for Reloop Turntables. I remember a few posts on the subject of affordable turntables a while back.

If you are looking to go DVS (Digital Vinyl System), you’ll need DJ software, supported hardware (either the mixer needs to be certified for the software you’ll be using or you need a certified soundcard for that software) and timecode vinyls.

Don’t go double posting please. You asked the same questions in a post called CDJs, which has been deleted.

Also, this is not the way things work here at the forums. We are glad to help people who are struggling by offering advice and knowledge (plenty of it around with all our combined readers), but it’s not like “just tell me what are the best three CDJs or whatever”.

First we appreciate it if you tell us a little about yourself and what you are trying to achieve, what your goals are. Next it would be nice if you told us what you have done to investigate your options already and what challenges you run into with that.
Finally you can ask if anybody here has an opinion on it.

There is no way anybody can give you a “best of” for hardware, software, workflow or anything for DJ-ing, because it’s all highly personal choices.

So, come back with a clear description of your goals and desires and what you have done already and I am sure we have a few readers on here ready and willing to help you along your path.

    Hi Glenn,

first of, i have to say, i agree with Vintage. Finding hardware is not as easy as just asking on a forum.
However, if you look for advise, here would be my option to go:
    Turntables: Reloop 7000
Mixer: Akai AMX (for DVS and “thru”).

be aware though that you will be able to have more options if you go for a controller…
Also with turntables, your monthly expense will be higher (needles, time code records, etc)

if you have any budget in mind, let us know.

    regards,

    King of Snake
