    Yes they’ll be fine.
The M44-7s are very popular with scratch DJs and turntablists because they track and hold the groove very well. They’re a bit hard on the vinyl tho if vinyl wear is an issue. Their M44Gs or M35Xs may be a better choice if record wear is an issue and you’re not into scratching and turntablism.

The styli need to match the carts. When you buy new carts they will come with styli, it’s a good idea to consider the price of replacement styli when buying carts tho as they will wear out or get damaged and need replacing at some point.

A cheaper alternative is to just buy new styli for the carts you have. If you picked up the Stantons 2nd hand you may just need to give the styli a good clean, if you’re lucky .

Thanks for the info. I’ll look into those other cartridges. I am a little worried about record wear as I have a good size vinyl collection. I need a good all around cartridge. I have always heard about great things about the shures.

what Stanton cartridges do you currently have now? I have had excellent performance using the Stanton 890 FS series which have high input pick-up designed to work with DVS setups. The newer stylus design for Stanton (V3 series) is backwards compatible with older model cartridges as well. This may be an option if you are looking to save a few bucks. Also if you are looking to swap out for new carts as well, the 890’s can come in balanced pairs already mounted on headshells and are shipped with 2 sets of stylii, one set for playback, one set for strictly recording/archiving your vinyl.
