Look for DJ Angelo on YouTube. He has a ton of vids on scratching and they are excellent. As for gear, I think he has a section for scratching with static platters (controllers) as well as regular motorised platters.
You don’t have to scratch with motorised platters, I myself prefer it (Technics and sc3900’s) but that’s just me.

Thanks, I was looking into the NS7 because I don’t want to purchase twice I rather spend the money upfront and call it a day. I’ve had some experience(albeit small) with the NV and I really like the idea of the screens. I visited my local Guitar Center today and I must say, I’m falling in love with the NS7II…being that the MK3 comes out in about 2 months, I am thinking to wait cause I love the screens.

It’s a fair wedge of cash but you won’t go wrong with the ns7. When I upgraded a couple of years ago I nearly went with the ns7 II which had just been released at the time, but in the end chose Denon. If screens and scratching are your thing then get the v3. It’s built like a tank and you will have A LOT of fun with it 🙂

I believe the screens will also be available as a bolt on for the NS7II (see the reports on the NAMM release over at the blog).

And obviously, if you are willing to spend the money, the Scratching For Controller DJs course by Phil and Steve is really good.

Thanks guys, I sent back my NV and will be waiting on the release of the NS7iii. I did read about the add-on for v2…if price is reasonable i will get the v2 instead. I am new to serato and this whole crates thing but a local DJ told me about setting them for how I’d like to play and once i set that up I believe things will come along eventually.
