    Nothing you are describing sounds like an issue… Depending where you are playing your samples and such from (it sounds like you might be playing them off a deck instead of from the sampler from your description), then load them onto the third or fourth deck instead of one or two. That way you can load up the track you are sampling from and the next song you want to mix from at the same time.

    On some sets where I’m burning through a pile of tracks quickly, I’ll only be leaving each track on for 20 to 40 seconds. I keep a few songs for the set open in my library, as soon as I’ve mixed out of the last track load up the next one, adjust speed, adjust levels, hit play and bring it up. As you get more practice, you should be able to do that in a matter of seconds. It’s just about knowing your music well and knowing what direction you’re taking the set in.

    Keep it up – the creativity comes from feeling confident with the tracks you are picking.
