Not at all. DJs need more than a plan b, sometimes plan z is required 🙂

Only one base not covered… a back up generator in case the power goes out! LOL.

What if lightning strikes and the DJM dies?
What if all the CDJs die through a power surge that transfers through the link cable?

But most important:
WHAT IF YOU BREAK A NAIL????

I have a My backups as well. I use a rack type system……So I have a Denon MC6000 {Plan A}, with Traktor Pro 2 and Denon HDDN2500 {plan B} With a Powered USB Hub on it, for flash drives and a Ipad with Traktor DJ on it{ Plan C} . Then there is the Old Ipod Classic 😉 {Plan D}. And for Sound I do have Battery Powered Speakers, Nothing Big but it can be used for Annoucments and back groud music ;). But there are many more things that can happen, im sure of it. This system has worked for me very well.

I also carry multiple ways to play music with me. SC2900’s with Engine are my main method, but if my laptop went down I have Thumb Drives with enough music to get me through a gig, plus a whole load of CD’s. If one (or both) SC2900’s went down, I have traktor on my laptop with my MC6000. Also carry a MP3 player with me. If both the SC2900’s AND the MC6000 went down I carry an NI Audio 2 that I could use traktor with, and I carry a spare 2 channel mixer with me.

Never had anything fail on me, but you can guarantee if I didn’t have a backup something would go wrong!!

Have you mentioned spare cables and adapters?
The whole thing reminds me of:

My god, man, playing the Who afterparty?!? I’d bring three of everything 🙂 I don’t think you’re being paranoid at all.

Old saying from the tech world – you can never be truly redundant, only one planet.

PS – really appreciate all the good advice you have contributed to this forum – even which tent to get 😎
