The speakers in that main blog thread is awesome. If you had a laptop you could look at DJ2GO (cheap) or Faderfox ,expensive) micro controllers.

I think I’ll give the DJ2Go a wide berth as I feel I would get bored of tha faurly quickly. Never mind four months down the line. Faderfox looks absolutely superb, watched your review on Youtube, a little expensive, but superb nonetheless. The speakers look a winner however.

    Anyone else with any recommendations?

If you are using Traktor…take a look at the Kontrol X1. fairly cheap and with proper mapping you can make the X1 do EVERY thing you need. When my S4 cant fit into a booth i just use 2 X1s and a midi fighter to control everything

Just bare in mind that X1 does not have any soundcard!
Allen&Heath Xone:K2 is a simular product with built in soundcrd if you need that…..

I recently got myself a VCI-100SE + Traktor Audio 2, the VCI-100 is fairly heavy, but it’s built like a tank and has got a really small footprint (without getting cramped). There’s also great support from DJTechtools.

For the X1 and the K2, how do you switch/fade betwee the decks? Would you need to get a mixer too, either that or have to use the mouse on the laptop? Am I correct in saying this?

If my thinkings correct, can anyone recommened a wee mixer? Can’t be big.

Yeah, you’d need a mixer too. I like the DJ-Tech X10 which also has a built-in sound card if you go for the X1.
