select all the songs you have revised tagging and right click and check consistancy. That should re-import all the changes to the id3 tags you have made

I have never used LE so i cant say…but i have never had a problem with my tagging if done properly. This is my method.

Download songs put into Media Monkey, revise tagging and get all the info in properly (Star Rating in Media Monkey does not transfer to Itunes or Traktor)

Then I import my songs into a Playlist ( Playlists i arrange by date…i download the song…not my actual set list)

This is where i will use the Star rating and start building my set, and will create playlists based on Date of my show. Once that is done i will open traktor and import the playlist into my Traktor Playlists.

I also have meta playlists or whatever they are called that will automatically create playlists based on Grouping field or Star field etc.

    Example:

The Playlist will automatically add songs that have 3 – 5 star rating, with Electro Genre, and have Big Room, Banging, Peak Hours tagged under the grouping field.

There are various Id3 tag versions, they are not comparable with each other. This is why you have the problem.

So how do i remedy this, media-monkey for instance allows me to select id3 tag sorts etc, when using itunes i never needed to import a playlist because it automatically shows up in the software although i stopped using itunes becuase it was too slow and kept crashing. İ will play around with importing playlists and see how i go.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Try to lock and maybe then unlock the Traktor playlist entries as this operation saves id3 tags to the actual MP3 file. If you want to see the values in iTunes, you need to open the files in iTunes as a lot of the id3 tag info is stored in the database itself after parsing the files. I know this is true of the BPM id3 tags, have not done much star tagging with Traktor — I must confess.

Acording to the specification, “rating” is noted with a numeric value from 1 to 255. Each application defines their behaviour for “rating” in ID3, depending on their design.
    For example:
iTunes – does not treat it (rating star is managed only with his DB/XML)
Serato – does not treat it (column does not exist)
VirtualDJ – does not treat it (rating star is managed only with his XML)
    Here’s a post from MediaMonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28380

You could look at Tag and Rename their support site says that they support:
mp3 – ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags (ANSI, Unicode and UT8 encoded tags fully supported)
