    Pick your poison – figure out which software you want to use and the controller question will sort itself out. The NV is Serato based, the S5 is Traktor based.

    Frankly, if you are just starting out, I’d say both controllers are above your level, maybe the NV slightly more so than the S5. But that is open to discussion.

    Imho, it would make more sense to get your bearings with a more entry-level controller. By the time you feel experienced enough to upgrade, you will know enough to pick between these two controllers (and probably will consider a host of others).
