Traktor S4 vs Modular with soundcard

Yeah, my sentiments exactly. The hooking up of soundcards gets real old quick, especially if you have several things to connect as controllers/mixers too. So unless travel requirements dictate that you can’t use an S4, I’d go for the full controller. The soundcard is good enough not to worry about an external one.

If only I could get a chance. Sorting my music collection for the past week.. Does anyone know of any good tutorials for the Mk2 online?

It’s usually not the controller that is complicated, the buttons are marked clearly. Only thing you need to do is learn what buttons have dual functions (through SHIFT-button combinations for example).

If you use the S4 with Traktor, all functions will perform the task as labelled on the controller.

Other than that, I don’t really know what to say about using a controller. Knowing your software is the key. After that it’s just getting acquinted with the location of stuff on the controller and building some muscle memory there.
