You have to map your lpd8 through the editor for the lpd8 and mapping editor in traktor.

    Hello iR2DJ2,

Before I bought an S4, my setup consisted of an s2 and an LPD8, which is a very versatile little beast in my opinion. Working with those two at the same time is no problem.

To add the LPD8 to your arsenal, simply add a new MIDI-Device (Generic Midi), set in and out – port to the LPD8 (it should be connected 😉 ) and then press Press “Add In”, search the desired item you want to map a button to, press “learn” and the press a button on the LPD8 – Voila, mapped 🙂

Because the LPD8 has Four MIDI-Banks with each 2 sets of Pad-Banks (CC and Note), you have essentially 16 buttons and 8 knobs per bank right at your disposal. I used the LPD8 for the following things (to give you a few ideas):

    • Access to all 8 Hotcues with the Buttons
    • Effects on/off and values with the knobs / FX-Unit assign
    • Sample (remixdeck) slots with Volumes (only the first row mappable)
    • Keyadjust with the Knobs
    • The LPD8 as a little all-in one Controller with Transportcontrol / 4 Hotcues and Filter/EQ

Hope this helps a little 🙂
