There are several modular controllers out there that have RGB pads that you could use. The Midi Fighter Spectra and 3D were, for a while, the only controllers that could control the remix decks (and even not fully until the update) Most controllerists rave about the feel and durability of the arcade buttons used. Another controller to look into would be the Behringer CMD-LC1. It has RGB, an 8×4 grid (meaning you could have two rows of one remix deck, or even both pairs of Remix decks on 1 controller). It has 8 rotary encoders (as oppossed to the 4 knobs and 4 faders of the F1, so you could probably have the same mappings, and even has more “extra” buttons than the F1. You also could look into the Xone K2 as well. As for button feel, thats sort of a subjective thing. The maschine line is known for great pads, so if you like those, use them as a guideline.

I guess the new Numark Orbit could also be mapped to control remix decks?

Anything that has buttons and can send midi can do it apparently, so your choices are limitless.

Very true, very true. I sorta tried to stick with controllers with a similar layout to the F1, mainly for convience

It’s interesting that having RGB doesn’t really play into the remix deck mapping, since you can’t map clip color to a MIDI controller – so when you’re looking for a controller to map towards the remix decks you need to be looking more at functionality.

But the DC-1 has a remix deck TSI on the Behringer website, and I just got finished with an LC-1 mapping as well that will probably go up on Thursday.

Anything can be mapped now, however I have yet find any mapping that will rival the F1 (especially 2 of them).

I second Terry_42. I don’t own a F1 (yet), but I plan on getting one. Other controllers will work, but they pale in comparison, IMHO.
