This is a video taken off my phone just to illustrate the issue when loading songs. As you can see all the songs have been used before but when I the second song becomes choppy, and you’ll see the CPU meter jump to red.

MemberThere can only be general tips to fix your problem, but maybe one helps.
1.
Hit “Start -> enter “msconfig” in the box -> review the entries under “Services” & “system start(up)”
kill all that ain’t necessary, but be careful not to turn off the NI services. There’s tons of instructions on the web which services you can disable and which better not. Especially things like automatic updated tasks bitch around lots.2.
Be sure you have the latest drivers for everything, especially:
graphics card, and of course the S2.3.
Switch off WLAN/Wifi, and and antivirus, Windows Defender and so on – as long as the notebook isn’t connected to the web, there’s no sense having them switched on when djing. Before you do so, make a complete antivirus scan of the whole laptop, just to be sure.4.
Select all tracks in traktor (whole library) and analyze them all ๐
Let it run overnight if you have to.Hope it helped.

MemberI have tried the first 3 tips multiple times and still have the same issues. I currently wiped my library, reloaded all of my songs into the collection and I am analyzing them as we speak. If this works I will assume its an issue between the iTunes feature and Traktor? I will reply when it is completed.

MemberTried it to no avail. I am getting a MacBook this Summer but I may get one now as it is quite the nuisance. Macbook has nothing to do with DJ-ing, it’s more of a long term investment for school. My debate is do I keep this laptop or sell it?

ParticipantYou could try changing the audio settings. Try it using the WASAPI shared mode.
also if your pc is more than 6 months old chances are a system restore will put things back in order.February 22, 2012 at 9:58 pm #15449Matt Moncrieffe
MemberThanks, for your input, still getting the same issues though. It’s even worse in Shared mode, if that helps?

MemberFrom my point of view, those lags you experience could result from things working in the background which share files with traktor and so interrupt the datastream, in easy words. I would do a complete antivir/malware (did you try the microsoft malicious software removal tool?) checkup, just to make sure this is definitely not the problem.
Did you defrag your HDD?
What switching USBports?
Where is your music located, on the built-in HDD or an external drive?Start “msconfig” and then select the “normal startup”; this will cause all your changes here to be set back, but if your laptop runs better once it has booted (which will take considerably longer now), you can start deselecting services and programmes step by step. I’m shure it is just a stupid little bug and once you’re over with it you’re gonna slap your face and curse real good ๐
Ah, I forgot – do you have all the latest windows updates installed? THIS could cause serious trouble, if not done.
Make sure you did ๐ And after all are installed, kick the windows updaer out of the startup ๐February 23, 2012 at 3:36 pm #1003079Pรคr Hessler
ParticipantIf you are running VISTA. Then just change your OS
Vista is the worse you can have…..And you will proberbly have to live with that until you changes your OS!Try Windows 7 or Windows XP.

MemberThanks again for the help everyone, sadly I am still searching for clues. Tried downloading the Malicious Software Tool and it says it is not compatible with my version of Windows. I am currently on Windows 7 Home Premium. All my songs are on my laptop and I moved everything else to an external hard-drive including games, documents, pictures etc. unless I am currently using them. Windows is updated, the only thing I am going to try again s the msconfig. Since your signature has the Macbook Pro, Hessler mind me asking some questions about it in general whether it be here or in a private message? I am looking to purchase a new laptop regardless of this issue (it’s for school) but I was wondering what someones take on it is, who DJ’s, same goes for anyone else with a Macbook Pro.
Once again, everyone.
