InactiveDon’t forget that Native Instruments now bundle a full version of Traktor 2 Pro with all their products, with a free upgrade to 2.5 at the end of May.

ParticipantSDJM I noticed that and actually the controller that seems like I would get the most out of it is indeed an novation twitch … it’s a bit outta my price and o feel experience range right now…

Being a bit out of your experience range is fine, you can grow into it, and regarding price – I was looking at a Mixtrack Pro originally, but ended up plumping for the then on-offer S2 at basically twice the price. My reason for doing so was that I would outgrow the Mixtrack quickly and then it would basically leave me out of pocket when I upgraded, even if I managed to sell the Mixtrack.

InactiveRegarding the S2 also, it depends how much time you are planning to invest – if you’re going to do an hour a week then it’d be rather pointless investing a significant sum into something like the S2. On the other hand, if you’re planning to invest a significant portion of your leisure time then you will reap dividends by investing properly from the start.

I second that. While I still use it for my own pleasure, I recently purchased Traktor and moved on.
Native Instruments is still selling Traktor for $89 USD. That’s a hell of a deal since it’s normally $250 USD.

Participantit basically your preference taste and the style of ur DJing. I’ve use many of them because I ended up getting the software. when I fist got into DJing I got Mixmeister while at the same tI found that PCDJ was LACKIime I was using VDJ. Mixmeister is a great software but you don’t have cross faders function I didn’t realize that until I played more on VDJ. So I went to PCDJ DEX my next software. PCDJ didn’t have the skin I wanted to use and so I ended up trying Torq but mapping was a joke and trying to get it to work took up my time. So to tell you I eneded up with owning both VDJ pro and I went ahead and got traktor pro 2 because I ended up liking it. you know it like games u either buy the game becuase you tried it once but not enough to stop ur curiosity to buy it.
in the end I was able to tried many of them and gain the hand on what I know will work for me.May 2, 2012 at 2:54 am #1003882Anthony Johnson
Mixmeister is a great software but you don’t have cross faders function I didn’t realize that until I played more with VDJ when I was learning beat matching and found that there’s no cross fader to switch to a different song. Mixmeister is for those that don’t want to deal with beat matching and everything is done for you automatically. It more like a putting together a big playlist to play if you don’t have request to play a song then it get tricky to play the song next. So I went to PCDJ DEX my next software. PCDJ didn’t have the skin I wanted to use and so I ended up trying Torq but mapping was a joke and trying to get it to work took up my time. So to tell you I eneded up with owning both VDJ pro and I went ahead and got traktor pro 2 because I ended up liking it and you can’t beat the price when you own the controller that come with LE so upgrading was nothing compare to buying it buy itself.
In the end I was able to tried many of them and gain the hand on what I know will work for me and I can voice my opinion about them because I’ve tried them myself.
-
