Well Eliah, I hope it helped release some pent up anger, sounded like you needed it.

Have to say that we try to keep an upbeat and positive vibe going here at the forum and although we welcome any discussion, it would be nice if it were to be packaged as such, a thought with a question for comment attached to it.

By all means have an opinion, but remember it’s an opinion. And just because something doesn’t agree with your opinion, doesn’t mean someone else can’t like that particular something and be of the opinion that this something is great. There is no right or wrong in music, imho. I know DJs who love the 6 minute basslines with nothing else, because it’s a wonderful platform to start doing your own stuff on top off. Throwing in acapella’s, mashing stuff up, etc.

This indeed sounds like a rant with lots of WTF, STFU, Barf and other niceties thrown in. So, do us all a favor, next time keep the rant level down please.

    CONTENT REMOVED

perhaps you could find a genre of music that demands a little bit more of a producer,
and you wouldn’t be disappointed by the lack of creativity.

Another way to put this, is that you’ll often find that the more demanding a genre is on the producer, the more likely their motivations are going to be creating good art, and when a producer genuinely cares about their music, because they put weeks or months into a single track, they tend also to care more about the quality of the audio they are selling.

    Hey Xavier,

Your English is fine and your point is clear. It’s why I said in my first response that this is not the way we do things here at DDJT.

We like upbeat, positive and don’t shy away from a discussion. It actually says so in the forum rules that opinions should be stated as such, opinions, not facts!

Unfortunately, reactions like “are you 16 or something” don’t help matters either. First of all, someone could actually be 16 and there is nothing wrong with that. Secondly, it a degrading remark and a personal attack. Which usually is what triggers the other person into a response. And before you know it we have the shouting matches you see at other forums.

So, let’s all be mature (regardless of our age) here and take Eliah’s comments as what they were in my opinion, a clear display of frustration with the way modern music is going. Just phrased in a way not becoming of DDJT forums.

And we’ll take it that Alchemy in turn ment to say “I personally think that house is Poo”.

Finally, we’ll blame your “are you 16 or something” on your “bad” english :-).

Let’s consider this one closed. If any of you want to further discuss the merits of modern (dance) music in a positive and upbeat spirit exchanging personal opinions while respecting the other posters for their opinion, then by all means feel free to open another topic.
