    Hello There Prof. Deusc

I cant really help you with the points 1 and 2 (as you can see in my signature) but i can try to help you with number 3…

What i do is a little thing i like to call research (many people say it’s “the homework”…

you start with finding some blogs (that have a music genre or many, that fits you) about music and then you listen to the songs in the blog… if the blog doesnt have the option of buying the song you just go to Beatport, Itunes or something like that and buy it.

Another way i usually do it is writting the following on google:

    site:zippyshare.com (Put name of artist/remixer/producer/Etc.)

And now google that… then do like you would do with a blog… listen to the song and then buy them on any site that allows you to do so…

I can give you a name of a blog or two –>
    http://www.thefreshbeat.com
    http://www.djsetro.com
    http://www.livingelectro.com
    http://www.beatport.com
    http://www.cahulhousemafia.net

Sorry Phil hope you dont mind me posting links to those websites…

My Friend That’s all i cant tell you. Please buy the tracks you see fit, artists had a lot of work doing them so the least you cand do is supporting them.

    Take good care.

as many of you know, I’m in the DJ world since about a week only, but as I always do I’m already thinking months ahead.
I have some question to ask:
1- how long does a “normal”gig last (in a club)?
2- how many songs do you play in a night?
3- how do you know new songs? I’m using top 2011 and some top 2010 for now, but I don’t think i can reach a decent number of songs if I use only “tops”, not even if I go back in the days like 1995 😎

I’m asking you these things because I’d like to begin getting closer to the world, like djing for hours without breaks, using headphones for hours and so on… Even tough I can’t simulate the most important thing: stage fright…

Welcome to the DJ world first of all..

    Now onto your questions

    1. It can last from anything from half an hour to about 6 hours. I’v actually did a 9 hour shift, but usually do 2-4 hour shifts.
    2. Depends if you are a club or disco DJ (im guessing you are club). So again, this can vary depending on your mixing style.. If you let a song play out or cut and chop it up.
    3. Unless you are DJ’n to a commercial/top40 club my advice is to search out with the top 40’s etc and find your own tracks to make your own set unique. If you DJ top 40/commercial search blogs, DJ mixes, radio shows etc etc and you will find the ‘next big track’.

    Good luck!

First of All zippyshare ain’t illegalpeople put their illegal stuff there… and not even everything you see on youtube is up on zippyshare and vice-versa…and why do you say youtube is legall and zippyshare is not? there is many stuff on youtube that is illegal (why would they remove videos?. is it because youtube doesn’t have a download button??? my friend if Prof. Deusc wants to download ILLEGALLY is youtube the best way? (lack of sound quality is one of the things i’m refering to, because if he want’s to, there are many programs that do so)…

To be honest, i 100% agree with what you said, i should have explained what i said more in depth instead of being short and sharp.. I just think zippyshare encourages illegal downloads compared to youtube’n a song but i am well aware that youtube doesn’t have everything that you need and that most can be illegal uploads etc.
