Many Apologies ‘Howitzer’; my Post wasn’t aimed at you (it just happened to follow yours); I was just responding to the 7 or 8 Posts I had read before I wrote my Post; and I thought I should write something Positive; even though it is Unlikley that Anyone already ‘Up On Stage’ would listen to any Constructive Critisism 🙂

Oh no, he wasn’t using it for transitions. He was just throwing them in the middle of a song, not even in time with the beat. He wasn’t using it for pre-chorus buildups or anything, he’d just throw it in whenever. UGH!

Graham Park??!! The guy’s a legend!

Don’t think any of the hundreds of people going crazy in the Hacienda on any given Saturday night would agree with you there mate!!!

I think the folk who saw him trainwreck in Hazy’s and empty the downstairs room would 😉

“Yeah i’m a legend so i can get away with playing anything i like in any old way i like” just wasnt gonna cut it that night.
And i do mean properly properly emptied the room.

Hero worship… i’ll never understand it… It will never make up for any lack of talent..
On the same ticket.. Boy George could never be called the most technically adept DJ but at least you tell he was heart and soul all about the music at his gigs

I think that’s even how I met Phil.

Sounds good – can anyone post a link please? Also, is there a dj equipment for sale section here?

Many thanks Phil, quite a lot of reading there, but reading through the first page, it’s gonna be a good read.

I’m far from being the world’s best DJ, so not one to criticise much.. BUT
A few weeks ago I watched this kid in a bar with loads of kit, digital vinyl, all sorts. When he started he played some nice reggae tunes, so far so good. Then Cypress Hill, can’t remember which. Nice! I thought, haven’t heard CH in ages, bit like visiting an old friend.
Then he played.. another CH track. Then another. And so on.
I was joking after the first couple that he had run out of records, but I swear he played EVERY track off Black Monday – at least 8 or so – IN A ROW. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. He pretty much did a few lame scratch licks and cut over on the fade each time too.
I’m pretty sure after the CypressHill-athon he played a couple of different artists and then played a couple of the best known CH tracks for a second time.
It was early, and quiet, but no excuse for that. DJ Crime.

Sounds pretty dire that one! If you had to choose the best Cypress Hill floor filler, what would it be?
