    Could you post an example? let’s say a set where fatboy slim does it, or any other DJ, just to get a grip of what you’re saying..

    I believe what you’re talking about it is setting a loop (works well with vocals) then reducing the size of the loop, on the fly. You can add effects such as filters or a flanger + cut in and out with the fader to make it more dramatic.

    fatboy slim is the worst famous dj in the history of famous dj’s… seen him 3 times each time was his worst.

    now that’s said, you can change the jog behaviour easily by mapping a button with something like

    wheel_mode “jog, loop_out, loop_size” +1

    I must agree with synthet1c that Fatboy Slim is a terrible DJ (strictly mixing, not his productions). I wouldn’t generally advise learning anything from him but that is a pretty common technique so I’ll let it slide in this case ;-).
    Last time he played a concert in Sydney, he was sooooo off his head he was pulling some terrible faces. They had 2 big screens either side of the stage and just had the camera zoomed in on his face for basically his whole set, to entertain everyone.
