Sorry no personal experience with RCF but they have a decent reputation.

In the price range I can recommend KRK, Adams and Yamaha. Which I have all tested and are very good.

Yeah, RCF typically tend to be more of a PA speakers. Not having personally tested the monitor versions I can’t say how they hold up in that environment.

I just got the KRK Rokit 5 G3 monitors on Black Friday.

    They sound great to me.

If anyone has the KRK speakers, when you first turn them on, do you notice about a 4-5 second delay before the sound becomes audible. I’m trying to determine if this is a defect or the the way they are suppose to function. Once they do start, everything seems normal.

All nice speakers guys. I have the (white) R5’s. My next set (if I ever tire of these) will probably be the VXT6. Just a little more bass than the 5’s and not as bulky in my face as the 8’s. Listened to the VXT’s in an audio shop not too long ago and they are definitely a step up from the Rokits, but that is reflected in the price too.

The Rokits are unmatched when it comes to price/performance I think.

Sydvicious, I don’t have experience with the Rockits yet but I learned decades ago to always turn on speakers with the volume down and wait at least 10 seconds before bringing the volume up. In fact, my high-end hi-fi amp makes a clicking sound to tell me when it’s ready for me to crank it up. Maybe this doesn’t apply to modern studio monitors or PA speakers but I don’t want to find out by mistake.

Monitor speakers usually have no volume knob… as they are meant to be used with a mixer…

Luckily for him the Rokits have a volume know (down to about -30dB) :-).

I think I remember the power-on delay, but not sure. It’s been over a year and a half since I switched them off.

Yeah Rockits do not fizzle, they delay and are also secured via a breaker circuit.
