At that price point I would try to get some KRK Rockit 5 or 6s depending on your going rate in AUS you should be able to get a pair of those.

I have updated my budget for this purchase to AUD$500 or GBP£345 or USD$520 if that helps people with their reccomendations.

Rokit 8’s then. Especially if you’re doing DJ business. They may not be the best for production as they are quite beefy at the low end, but I know a lot of us enjoy that.

I also highly recommend IsoAcoustics monitor stands. Picked up a pair for $99. Adjustable height/angle and decent decoupling.
